How much does Botox® cost in Île-Perrot and Vaudreuil-Dorion?
The cost depends on the number of units of botulinum toxin required and the areas treated: a single area such as the glabella (frown lines) needs far fewer units than a treatment combining forehead, glabella and crow's feet. We establish the exact number of units and the price during the medical consultation, for which the fee is $150. If the treatment is performed the same day, that consultation fee is applied to the treatment.
Are botulinum toxin injections painful?
Discomfort is minimal. The injections use very fine needles and the sensation is a small pinch lasting a few seconds per injection point. Anaesthesia is not normally required. Numbing cream or cold can be applied if you are particularly sensitive.
How long does a Botox® session take?
The injection session itself generally takes 10 to 20 minutes depending on the number of areas treated. Allowing for the physician's assessment and preparation, plan on roughly 30 to 45 minutes at the clinic. There is no downtime: you can resume your normal activities immediately afterwards.
When will I see results?
Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, botulinum toxin results are not immediate. They start to appear between day 4 and day 7 and reach full effect around day 14. For that reason we recommend scheduling treatment at least two weeks before an important event.
How long do the effects of Botox® last?
The effect lasts four to six months on average. The duration tends to lengthen over successive sessions, as the treated muscles get used to working less. In general, one to two maintenance sessions per year are enough to keep a good result. The treatment is entirely reversible: if you stop, the muscles gradually regain their normal activity.
